HISTORY OF THE WELSH SAUSAGE COMPANY

John Langford started delivering meat on his bike at the age of 10 and did this to the age of 15, by this time he had been watching other butchers and been learning the trade of butchering.

Two years passed and he had learnt everything he needed to know, so he decided to visit a number of top class shops in London, Watford, Cheadle and Market Drayton.

LANGFORDS BUTCHERS ESTABLISHED 1980

In 1980, R S Roberts butchers shop came on the market, and not long after John bought the premises of 29 Severn Street Welshpool Powys. After several year of increased sales, 28 Severn Street was purchased to increase the sales area and business rocketed Ten years on john purchased the Eagle Hotel next door and built a new butchers shop with standards which proved to be a great success with his customers

LANGFORDS FOOD HALL

In April 2001, John purchased another shop around the corner, and achieved his dream, which has been visited by H.R.H Prince Of Wales. It's aim is to sell all local foods from farms around Wales, including Beef, Lamb, Pork, Venison and Duck, Wine, Cheeses and Bread, the Food Hall also sells homemade pies.

In 2003 and to the continued success of Langfords Sausages, which continues Winning numerous Competitions and Awards, and several customers requesting larger orders the business out grown the shop premises, this is when John and Christine decided to expand the business and open “The Welsh Sausage Company. Limited”, where state of the art equipment is used to produce up to 80 tonnes of sausages per week.

Our new latest Sausage is distributed around the Midlands, so we have named the kiddies favourite the healthy option. Low fat / low salt / high in meat content 8 Sausages per tray. We now have the capabilities to supply any amount in our new factory Our products are superior to many other brands and our company aim is to distribute our products widely throughout the UK.
